Here are a few book covers I've designed. In no particular order. Publishers include Feral House, Alternet Books, Process Media Inc., Dragonfly Books and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press.
Cover for Jen B. Larson's history of women making Punk music in the US during the genre's heyday.
We made this book, a history of speed, look like a giant amphetamine capsule. It was a challenge to get the die cut round enough to evoke a pill, but square enough to sit on a shelf without rolling off.
Exhaustive coffee-table tribute to the actor Sylvia Kristel, with essays and rarely seen artwork from most of her films.
Guide to survive the Great Depression 2.0. The information is still pertinent to the Great Depression 3.0.
The eagle has lost a tail feather is what I was trying to suggest with this illustration made of scanned feathers.
Found artwork that fit the subject nicely.
I call this interesting collection of essays Guns, Germs and Chickens.
Photo illustrated cover for the cautionary saga of the innocent but imprisoned Alton Logan
Matt Taibbi's take on the voracious spectacle that is today's mainstream media
A photo coffee-table book featuring child survivors of heart operations. The X-ray is of the author, himself a survivor of multiple open-heart surgeries.
Collection of essays attempting to dissect the political movement known as the Tea Party
A collection of essays on food
Nutritious mandala
A line of reprinted titles for Feral House that I dubbed Resurrections. There was a fourth book that never got printed.
The publisher really, really wanted Dorothy in shades, and it worked for me.
Either an icosidodecahedron shaped roof or someone is cooking a gigantic pan of Jiffy pop corn.
Faux-leather hardback of dirty limericks and drawings from the 19th Century
This cover is an homage to an anonymously designed Boy Scout Guide cover from around the '50s. We changed the illustrations and type but kept a lot of the color and composition.
History of MC5 with matching CD inside the book!
The Watergate saga the Post didn't cover
Simple illustration to convey topic
